Areas: 1215, San Miguel and Lanan Creeks

Lake Level: 168.04

Generators: Both Down

Water Temp: 88 degrees to 92 degrees

Crappie: Crappie fishing is still fair with catches varying depending on the weather, cloudy day are slower than bright sunny days. Crappie continue to be caught on the deeper brush piles in 25 to32 feet of water. We are still catching some quality fish with one day the past week having 3 crappie in the 2lb range . Most catches this past week have been between 25 to 40 fish per trip. The best baits have been live minnows on cloudy days and jigs on sunny days. The new Gary Yamamoto 3”Swimsenko has produced several nice crappie along with the Tiny Ika. We are using those lures in place of jigs along with the Berkley power nibbles.

Bass: Night fishing: Bass fishing was very good during this past full moon cycle with many large bass being caught. The majority of the fish were caught on Zoom June Bug red ole Monster worms were the best along with the Large 8 inch black and blue tail lizards were good also. Most fish were coming out of 15 to 20 feet of water close to the old Sabine river channel.

Bass Day fishing: Fishing was good also but not as many large fish being caught, but none the less some good fish are being caught. The best day time lures have been the Red bug Zoom trick worm Texas rigged. The Gary Yamamoto 5”D/T H-Grub in green pumpkin and cinnamon/purple on a ¾ oz Football jig head. Carolina rigs with1oz weights rigged with a ultra vibe craw worm in cinnamon purple or Pumpkin with claws dyed chartreuse. The Drop Shots and shakey head jigs have all produced well in the past week.

Remember the fish are biting somewhere and we are looking for that somewhere.
