We have pets and we love them and know
many vacationers have pets and love theirs as well.
Due to problems with pets in the past, we have considered
several times to disallow pets altogether. We know a
lot of parks have gone this route. We have even considered
charging extra for pets as some parks do. Short of these
two extremes we are still trying to make the pet situation
maneagable.
Cats and dogs are the only pets we've ever had in the
park. Cats have never been a problem. Dogs have. We've
had customers drive in and the first thing they did
was open the door to let their dog run out to relieve
itself wherever it wanted to. We've had customers say,
"My dog never leaves my side!", then watch
as it ran all over the park. We've had dogs get in fights
and break off the water faucets. We had a GIANT dog
of some kind run towards me when I walked with my dog
and to my horror, when he hit the end of his rope the
skrew-in stake pulled out of the ground. Thankfully
the owner was close enough and jumped up and grabbed
him. We've had dogs chase and scare little kids. We've
had owners let their dogs run loose so they could chase
squirrels (we love our squirrels and we feed them),
etc., etc.!!! Needless to say the following rules are
basically for dogs but must be considered even if you
have some exotic pet like a monkey or a bengal tiger
or whatever.
1) ALL PETS WILL BE KEPT ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES
WHILE OUTSIDE. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
2) ALL PETS, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, WILL BE CLEANED
UP AFTER AND WASTE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF AT ALL TIMES
NO MATTER WHERE THEY RELIEVE THEMSELVES IN THE PARK!!.
If you don't have bags to pick up after your pet, some
will be provided upon request.
3) IF PET IS TIED OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE IT MUST
BE PROPERLY SECURED CONSIDERING THE SIZE AND WEIGHT
OF THE ANIMAL, AND KEPT WITHIN THE CONFINES OF DESIGNATED
TENT OR R.V. SITE!!.
4) PETS WILL NOT BE TIED OUTSIDE AND LEFT ALONE
UNATTENDED WHILE OWNERS GO FISHING OR SIGHTSEEING, ETC!!.
5) PETS WILL NOT BE TIED IN COMMON AREAS SUCH
AS BANK FISHING AREA, ETC. IF PETS ARE WALKED IN THESE
AREAS THEY MUST BE ON A SHORT LEASH UNDER CONTROL OF
OWNER AT ALL TIMES!!.
6) YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IF YOU WILL BE LETTING
YOUR PET OUT UNATTENDED IN THE NIGHT OR EARLY MORNING
HOURS, WHEN YOU THINK NO-ONE IS OUT AND ABOUT, TO RUN
UNATTENDED TO RELIEVE ITSELF, ANYWHERE IT WANTS, THINKING
NO-ONE WILL NOTICE, BECAUSE: "YOU'RE TOO LAZY TO
GET OUT OF BED!" OR, "IT ISN'T A CONVENIENT
TIME FOR YOU!" OR, "IT'S TOO COLD!" OR,
"YOU HAVEN'T HAD YOUR COFFEE YET!" OR, "IT'S
JUST TOO LATE AT NIGHT OR TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING!"
OR, WHATEVER EXCUSE RENDERS YOU TO BELIEVE THIS IS ACCEPTABLE!!
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!
RULES ARE RULES AND EVERYONE MUST OBEY THEM NO MATTER
WHAT TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT!!
7) MEAN, AGRESSIVE OR EXCESSIVE BARKING DOGS
ARE NOT WELCOME!!.

If you and your pet can live with these rules, then
you and your pet are welcome and I'm sure we and our
other guests would enjoy your company.
