Library Facilities and Services

Hours:

J. R. Huffman Public Library is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm - Closed on weekends and holidays.

Available:

In addition to our large selection of books, we also have available numerous videos -- including closed captioned videos for the hearing impaired; large print books; books on tape; periodicals such as: Beaumont Enterprise, Houston Chronicle, Sabine County Reporter, Consumer Reports, N.A.D.A. Used Car Guide, People, News Week, U.S. News, Mother Earth News, and Organic Gardening. We also have a telesensory machine which aids in enlarging reading materials for the visually impaired. We encourage anyone who loves to read but finds the print too small to come in and enjoy reading again with the aid of this machine.

Services:

We have computers for public use that provide Internet access at no charge. We have a photocopy machine, as well as a fax machine available to the public for sending and receiving facsimiles and making copies -- we do charge a small fee for use of the fax machine and 15 cents per copy for use of the copier and any printing done on the computer.

Facilities:

For groups / organizations that need meeting facilities, we have our meeting room (Reading Room) available for smaller groups (seating 25 comfortably at tables) as well as the Dr. W. T. Arnold, Sr. Theater for larger groups (theater style seating for 100, stage, sound system). If you need temporary sign space for an announcement, we also have a sign / marquee in front of the library available. Please check with a member of our staff for current rates.
