FISH TOLEDO BEND WITH BUTCH!

We spend most of our time fishing Toledo Bend north of the Pendleton Bridge because we find it to be the most consistently productive area offering a complete range of fish habitats.

Wind is a big factor on Toledo Bend so you always need some areas to get out of it and be able to fish productively. When those occasions occur we move to the creek areas of San Miguel and Lanan creeks. Both these areas have good populations of Bass and Crappie. When windy conditions occur, we know where to go to fish productively and enjoyably.

Spring Bass fishing starts in January and runs through April. Deep water Bass fishing starts in late April and runs through early January.

Crappie fishing starts in March with peak months being May, June, July and continues through the fall.

We fish for Bass and Crappie year round at Covington Guide Service.

For Bass and Crappie fishing we use colored Lowrance Electronics units HDS family and LMS520. These units are the best for deep water structure fishing for Crappie and Bass and easy to operate. Very user friendly.

Over the past 7 years we have built many brush piles for Bass and Crappie Brush piles of willow and bamboo are the mainstay for catching Bass and Crappie consistently.

Boats

24' Bentley Pontoon Boat provides comfortable fishing or sightseeing and includes a porta-pottie (very handy!), Bimini top, and CD player. Seats up to 12 for sightseeing and accommodates up to 8 for fishing.
